Simon Mumford

Simon has taught IGCSE and A Level Physics and Mechanics in Maths for 30 years and is an examiner for AQA.

After completing his degree, he undertook an MSc in Remote Sensing (Earth Satellite Observation). After a year working in industry, he decided on a career change and trained as a teacher, which he believes is the best decision he’s ever made. He taught Science for eight years in the UK before spending three years teaching in Malawi. His teaching roles have included Head of Science and Physics, and as a training provider for Physics teachers. Physics is his passion, and he is a keen amateur astronomer. Simon has organised and led school expeditions in Europe and Africa, plus visits to CERN in Geneva. In his spare time, you will find him mountaineering in the Lake District or cruising around the lanes on his bicycle.
